Happy Birthday Gen!

Friday night, a group of friends went to dinner at Chili's to celebrate Genevieve's (http://www.genevi00.blogspot.com/) birthday! Whenever us girls get together, boy do we have fun!!! LOL I think we stayed like 3 hours there! Our server was a trooper. He even took time to look at my blog and see what I made out of the Chili's coasters. We had great conversations from Gen's fabulous shoes to Betty & Sue (wink!). Rebecca, if you are reading this... sorry I didn't make it over to your house with the left overs. We stayed later than we thought! Anyway here are some pictures!!!

Altered Item...

Those close to me know that I do not like to do any altered projects! I have really only done a few before... mostly for swaps or challenges. But on Thursday, I went to lunch at Chili's Restaurant with 3 other co-workers (NON-scrappers). On the table, there was a stack of those chipboard coasters. I picked one up, and said, "What do you see when you look at this?" My non-scrapbooking coworkers said what was the normal answer... "coaster", "square", etc. I said, "When I look at this, I see a potential project!" Then I went into explaining what I would do, and they looked at me crazy! LOL So I told them I would do something and bring it on Monday to show them. I then got permission from the Server to take some home.

So here is what the coasters looked like before I altered them:
And here is what it looks like after:
Here are the individual pieces close up: All I need to do is add pictures to it and DONE!

Challenges Done!!

Yeah!!! I got some challenges done!! I spent my off day yesterday going to different LSS's and then finally got to settle down and scrap. I was suppose to make some ATC's for a Fiskar's event in November, but I have never made any before and really don't care to make any! :( So I was so unmotivated!! Instead, I grabbed a challenge and made this:
This challenge was to use your Stash. Out of the 8 items listed, I used Thickers, 2 pattern paper & 1 color cardstock, 9 buttons, Bazzill template, & 3 stamps.
Then Saturday, I thought I would TRY to make some ATC's, however... I just couldn't. I don't know why this is such a challenge for me!! URGH!!! So what did I do? More layouts!! LOL
This one was "Use Your Products" Challenge and I used the Prima Build a Swirl Stamp Set that I have never used before
How come my crackle paint never crackles? Anyway....

This one was for the Monthly Layout Contest that I host. This month was to use an item for every letter in the word "GOBLINS".

, I used: G- Ghost Shape, O- Orange Flower, B- Bling, L -Lace, I - Ink, N - Free Space, S - Staples.

All challenges are from www.socalscrap.us

Thanks for Looking! :)

PUMPKIN PATCH

Another full weekend! Friday, I spent my off day taking my daughter to her Dr. appt and watching my BFF's daughter. Saturday, I spent the day with some of my scrapbook buddies. We had a great time! We went to the Scrapfest by Strictly Scrapbooking and had fun with some make-n-takes and a little bit of shopping. I finally bought an Amy Butler bag! LOL I know... I'm late!! But I finally convinced myself that I needed it. :)

Sunday I spent the day with my 3 youngest children and my mother and my nieces (my mother takes care of full time). We took them to Pa's Pumpkin Patch in Long Beach. The kids had fun running around and going on all those rides! It was pretty hot out there too! I got some really good pictures of the children and wanted to share. I can't wait to do the layouts! :)

What a Weekend!!

This weekend was the first weekend with my new work schedule --- Friday's off! Oh yes, sounds great... however, it wasn't by choice. It was a mandatory cut in hours. But anyway, it was a blast! :) Friday I took my 9 year old to see Beverly Hills Chihuahua and she loved it. After that, I took a group of friends to see the the Anaheim Ducks, pre-season game. We had a blast! Here are some pictures....

Saturday, I was able to attend Srcappin' Escapes retreat that was held in Irvine. I was only able to go one day, but I had a great time. I was there all day (9am-12am). I won some fantastic prizes --some bling, acrylic album from Scrappin' Escapes, a punch from a silent auction, and some prima flowers from a name drawing from Liz (Prima class). Yes.. I took Liz's Prima class where we created a layout with a Paintable and Glimmer Mist! I felt like I was in Art class all over again! Here is my layout:

Sunday, was a chill day! I did household stuff like went grocery shopping and cooked dinner (yes... I DID cook!!). I was able to unload my scrap stuff from the retreat and complete another layout. This is probably why I forgot I was cooking and burnt the Chicken Enchiladas! Oops! Here are some layouts I completed over the weekend:

I am working on my New Orleans album.
